It is summer in the garden at MindEcology and the heritage raspberries are plump and jewel-like. And prolific. The regular rain we have had in Melbourne during recent months has helped the earth be more fertile so, with just a little sun and liquid food the raspberries have taken off this year. Some little people and big people attending MindEcology recently have partaken of them, and ‘devoured’ might not adequately describe how they went down!
This bounty of beautiful garnet berries is a fine example of nature’s capacity to provide, especially when we work with it. This particular raspberry was sourced from The Diggers Club, a haven for those who value nature in it’s more original forms through the preservation of heritage seeds and species of food and flower-producing plants. As we pass from the known of 2023 to the potential of 2024, the raspberries seem a small symbol of hope for what might be ahead should we choose it, and to provoke gratitude for the good things already here.
From us at MindEcology to you, best wishes for the season and for a New Year of mutuality and bounty in small or big ways. Please stay connected to MindEcology.com.au as we describe more of our work in Clinical Psychology and Therapeutic Horticulture during 2024.
