Welcome to MindEcology

My name is Dr. Michelle Earle and I am the Principal of MindEcology, a Clinical Psychology and Therapeutic Horticulture practice in the Inner West of Melbourne. I am a Clinical Psychologist with a longstanding passion for helping people make life-enhancing personal change through Clinical Psychological Therapy. I have been providing Clinical Psychology care to people living and working in the Inner West of Melbourne from this location, for over 15 years.

In recent years I have also pursued my longstanding personal interest in horticulture and the environment. This has been motivated by increasing evidence that connection to nature promotes human mental health and wellbeing, and by concern for the state of our natural world. After undertaking further study in Horticulture I established MindEcology in 2022, to offer a range of therapeutic services which draw upon the complementary disciplines of Clinical Psychology and Therapeutic Horticulture. These services are geared towards enhancing health and wellbeing at the level of individuals, communities, societies and the wider natural world.

MindEcology is set within an historic building and beautiful gardens, where we offer high-quality Clinical Psychological Assessment and Therapy services, a Sensory Garden, Mindfulness Meditation in Nature, Therapeutic Horticultural Activities (eg potting & cultivating) and Therapeutic Garden Design Services. We also help link people to other Community Gardening Projects and Environmental Restoration Projects.

MindEcology collaborates with allied professionals and services locally, some of whom share the MindEcology practice space.

MindEcology prioritises being a safe, inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds including those who are Culturally and Linguistically diverse, those from the GLBTIQ community, those who identify as Neurodiverse and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

MindEcology wishes to acknowledge that we are situated on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Boonwurrung Peoples of the Kulin nation. We offer our respects to the Elders of these traditional lands, and through them to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples past, present and emerging. We fully support the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
